Meet Janice Todd

Janice is not your typical cosmetic and skin care beauty consultant. Thirty-two years ago, Janice was working a full-time job at a local bank. Wanting to have children and be a stay-at-home wife and mother to her family Janice dabbled in various “home party” multi-level marketing businesses trying to find the opportunity for her, searching for a company and product she believed in and was truly passionate about. However, Janice did make decisions on a whim. She believes in the power of prayer and following the direction of her Lord to provide the answers to her questions, she continued at the bank job knowing that ‘in God’s timing the right thing would come along.’

It was at that bank job that a co-worker approached her about attending a Jafra Social. Always willing to support a friend in any way she can, Janice agreed to attend the event. It was at that moment that she experienced the company’s signature called Royal Jelly Milk Balm. Once she tried the Royal Jelly on her face she was immediately sold on the products, the company and the idea of being her own boss.

“I simply love the Royal Jelly. Plus I knew immediately that Jafra is a very fair and true company. They live up to their slogan, ‘Freedom to be you’” Janice told me. Knowing this was the answer she had been seeking, Janice signed on to become a consultant that evening and hit the ground running. At her first pampering party Janice had six women attend and ended the evening with six additional booking for future pampering events. Thirty – two years later, Janice is still having fun with her “original” clients and new Jafra friends.

In addition to having 1,000 clients from Coast to Coast, Janice has taught continuing education at vocational, trade and beauty schools for over thirty years. As well, she makes it a point to educate and communicate with her team of over 90 women on a weekly basis, and offers them classes two times a week. When a women joins Janice’s team she is literally taking the journey with them. Janice says, “If they know how to share Jafra, they can take their Show on the Go!” That attitude of training, teaching and mentoring women to get what they want out of life is what drives her. It is what motivates her to dedicate so much of her time specifically to her team.

Despite all she does for her team, Janice maintains communication with her clients spending hours on the phone, the road, traveling, listening and keeping them abreast of new and upcoming specials, offers, discounts and products often seeing thirty to forty customers a week. also takes pride in providing exceptional service and products to her clients by going above and beyond in ways such as, home deliveries for those that cannot get out, keeping product fresh and in a climate controlled room in her home so clients can have the convenience of “shopping to go” at her home. Many women will stop by on the run to get products they need and Janice has it ready and waiting.

Aside from her regimented personal business schedule with many 12 hour days several times a week, Janice has a heart to serve and makes it a point to find time to volunteer and give back. She spent many years in collaboration with MUSC’s Breast Cancer Foundation and their Looking Glass store with her “look good, feel good” program. By providing sample product packages with hair and scalp, massage cream, mud masks and bath salts, patients were able to receive a pampering, a give back on their purchases as part of the proceeds went to assist the funding of the Looking Glass, MUSC’s store for prosthetics and incontinence products. Missions are Janice’s ministry and she proudly combines her passion for missions with her love for pampering women and her dedication to all that is wonderful about her company’s products. For example, she has been known to personally deliver sample bags consisting of pampering products, packages of notebook paper and pencils to teachers in her community’s schools. She is also known for offering free mobile spa pamperings to corporations, offices and schools and often has to be booked several weeks in advance for these. She participates weekly in various events, health fairs and bridal shows and has her own direct weddings and rehearsal dinner program for bridal parties.

Besides being there 100% for her team, her clients, her community, church and volunteering, Janice still makes time in her day to pick up her 8 year old grandson from school several days a week and enjoy her one on one time with him. As well, every Saturday is dedicated to spending time with her 85-year old mother. Besides being outstanding in her field, her community and the circle she keeps, Janice holds herself to her own set of standards. Her own personal motivation is to listen to her God so that she may speak to someone who is downtrodden or needs uplifting. “Life should be a journey,” she told me, “find someone to go on the journey with you.” As I spotlight this outstanding woman in her field, I must say that truly at 57 years old, Janice is a living testimony to the Jafra motto: “Freedom to be you!”
