There are areas in our lives that can either bring power or suck power away from us. Think of your feelings when your office or home is clean and neat as you walk into it. Then picture  hoarder’s abode and feel the feelings you get walking into their home. Chaos takes from our energy field while calmness adds to it.

Cleaning out our fields of power allows us to access the powers contained in it to propel us forward into our ideal life. By staying present to what is happening and how you are creating your life you are going to notice how much time you spend in wasted effort and energy just navigating around all the mental, emotional and even physical clutter in your life.

Each of these nine fields of power can be resourceful or non-resourceful as you move toward your goals. The nine fields are memetic, body, self, nature, spiritual, relationships, network, financial and physical. In this article we will focus on the memetic, body, self, spiritual and relationship fields.

The Memetic Field: The memetic field includes ideas, values, thoughts, beliefs, paradigms, styles and habits that are passed down from generation to generation. The memetic field also includes information and knowledge. It is this field that rules them all because it has the power to transform our lives or keep us mired in the resentments, procrastinations, conflicts and attitudes that we might be struggling with. You might think that you do not have the ability to control your thoughts, but it is the most resourceful habit to create since your thoughts create your emotions, which creates your reality. Some questions to ask yourself to help clear this field are:

  • Will this thought I’m having fit with my deepest values and yearnings?
  • Will this thought I’m having interfere with my personal relationships and family life?
  • Will this thought I’m having provide the emotions I prefer?
  • Will this thought I’m having give me something I don’t want?

The Body Field: The body field includes the body, hair, skin, nails, health and energy. Some questions to ask yourself to help clear this field are:

  • If my body could talk right now, what would it say?
  • What’s one way I can celebrate my body every day?
  • What’s something that makes me feel worse about my body (e.g., women’s magazines, diet books, keeping a scale at home)?
  • What people make me feel bad a bout my body and myself? Why?

The Self Field: The self field includes our strengths, talents, personalities, feelings, emotions, values, passions and skills. The self field also includes the intangible aspects of our beings. Some questions to ask yourself to help clear this field are:

  • How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
  • If you had the opportunity to get a message across to a large group of people, what would your message be?
  • What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
  • Are you holding on to something you need to let go of?

The Spiritual Field: The spiritual field includes our connections to a higher power, to God or Spirit, the invisible connection we feel to others and the universe. It includes methods of connecting to spiritual aspects of life such as meditation, prayer and places of worship. Some questions to ask yourself to help clear this field are:

  • If I was not afraid would I?
  • What am I grateful for?
  • What can I do that I will enjoy while outside my comfort zone?
  • If triggered by an event, what can I learn from this feeling I’m experiencing?

The Relationship Field: The relationship field includes those people in our lives with whom we have an intimate connection. This includes family, close friends, close colleagues, co-workers, mentors and neighbors. Think about the five people you spend the most time with. Some questions to ask yourself to help clear this field are:

  • Are there people you are just putting up with?
  • Who in your life are you making excuses for?
  • Do the people in your life fill you with peace and joy?
  • Do you find yourself getting angry when around certain friends?

There are three things you can do to transform a field into one that gives you energy. You can add something (a new person, a new piece of equipment, a new belief), delete something (a negative person, the TV from your bedroom, a self-limiting belief, clutter) or modify something (paint a room, set a boundary with a family member, change where you eat dinner).

As you review the fields that constantly surround you in your life, ask yourself, “What could I add, delete or modify in each of these fields that would contribute to my success or enhance the quality of my life?” Now you can be aware of each of these fields and choose to consciously design them to support you in creating and maintaining the life you wish to experience.
