What’s Your GPA?
When you’re in school, you have a GPA – a grade point average. Tests, quizzes, book reports, projects – they all go towards your GPA, and it’s a benchmark for how well you’re doing in your classes.
Once we leave school, it’s rare for us to have a “scorecard” on how well we’re doing. But as an adult, we should still have a GPA: Goals, Plans, and Ambition.
When is the last time you had a goal to reach? A plan on how to reach it? The ambition to follow through?
Here’s your three-step plan for your GPA:
First, pick the date for your goal. It can be 90 days, one year, or three years.
Second, work backwards from there. Figure out the steps you need in order to get there. Break it down to what you need to do each week, each day, and each month.
Third, make your To-Do list every day. Check to make sure you are working towards your goal. Make sure you do at least one thing each day to move things forward.
There is a fourth element, but it’s not really a step. It’s a reminder:
Don’t Give Up. Keep Going.
You’re a Badass.
