Summer. A season filled with warmth, fun, family outings, and an extra dose of happiness. A time to make time to disconnect from the everyday routine and make a spontaneous trip, a family picnic at the park, a day at the beach, or a road trip to grandma’s.

Although this summer’s events may seem more challenging than previous years due to the Covid pandemic weddings will still be planned, Father’s will continue to be honored and our country will celebrate its freedom in whatever ways we find.

See, we can overcome any obstacles that come our way with the right motivation and mindset. We can still take time to embrace every day to its fullest, take care of ourselves, and be there for our loved ones.

On this cover, you see my ever-stunning friend Robin and are immediately taken in by her smile, warmth, and free-spirited confidence. Once you open the pages of this beautiful issue you find stories of giving back, on changing our mood and our mindset, about eating healthier and taking better care of ourselves. You are encouraged to live a better life, to teach others about equality and diversity, and to celebrate every day as a gift.

Focus on Fabulous is more than the name of my company. It is the cornerstone in which I build my life and my attitude. Yes, there are tough times, and yes there are days we’d rather not repeat but each day ends with a sunset proving that no matter what, the day can end beautifully. But you must take the time to notice.

I’m not saying we have to be little Mary Sunshine every minute of the day. Toxic positivity is exactly that. Toxic. We must take time to heal, to help, to hear when things go amok in our lives. After I have done all of that I remind myself of my bank of minutes granted to me each day. Minutes that will never be returned. I am reminded of how precious those minutes are and how fortunate I am that I get to choose how I spend them, and I am filled with gratitude. I am grateful for another day to gaze at a sunset, share a hug with my grandkids, or impact another person’s life in some way.

So, as we approach this special season, I encourage you to make this summer the best yet. Although these days may be tumultuous challenge yourself. I encourage you to fill the minutes of your days surrounded by the things and people you love, to laugh, to find something beautiful every day and hold tight to it. Challenge yourself even if only through a quick email, text, or phone call to reach out to those with whom you have become disconnected. The impact might surprise you.

Enjoy the warmth of the sunshine and the spirit of the season and take not one precious moment for granted. Live happily. Love deeply, laugh uncontrollably, and have the most glorious summer ever.

stay fabulous, stay you,

“mi”
