As a summer birthday girl living in the warm heart of the south, this season is always a thrilling celebration for me. With my kids grown and flown, my husband and I love to embark on day trips, uncovering the charm of local festivals, sampling the best of nearby breweries, and soaking up the energy of community events. And on those glorious three-day weekends, we might set off to visit our kids and grandbabies or welcome them here creating a house filled with 24/7 laughter and excitement.
There’s something special about summer in the south that draws our northern family members to visit. One dear cousin always insists on “putting her feet in the ocean” at every trip. Her visits and our beach time are a sweet summer ritual that deepens our family connections. Summer truly does have a way of awakening the carefree child within us all.
