Who said you have to wait until a new year to start making changes in your life? Where did this New Year’s resolution idea come from anyway? I’m sure there is a story behind it, but I didn’t bother to look it up. If what you do is based on man’s version of when to change, then you will be constantly with your hands in the air fighting against God. I like to put my hands up to receive blessings from Him instead. In order to get out of your old mindset and move into the new you, it is imperative that you see yourself from a bigger vantage point. Would you really want to be the same person you were last year? I know I don’t. Last year I wrecked two cars and lost a few job assignments. I’m so looking forward to leaving that behind. The great thing is I’m not waiting until January 1 to get started on the new me. And I need you to get started as well. Our divine purpose may be connected to someone else’s purpose. You may be holding me up from my blessing.

As I watched my plans fall apart these past few months, I caught myself putting up a serious fight with God. One day during my morning meditation and prayer, I raised my hands to receive His blessings instead of fighting. Once I did that I was able to move in purpose and according to His will. In less than three hours, the circumstance I was fighting about changed in my favor. So, you need to be sure you are living your purpose daily—not just when you feel like it—so you won’t be holding anyone else up from their purpose. When I had no speaking engagements, I created them; when I had no job assignment, I created an on-line source of income. Everything I did during my down time was connected to my purpose. What you do matters to others. Never look at idle time as a waste. We live in a get-it-done society and feel that we need to be constantly on the go. What you may need sometimes is solitude to get creative. Let’s get to work now on our purpose, by first being open-minded to new endeavors for the new year.
