Born in the South, Jenny Snow was a Navy brat, traveled all over the world and loves all walks of life. She is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the band Broken Arrow, co-founded in 2010 with bassist and band mate John Brown and drummer Tommy Duty. Along with other members Adam Gould, Adam Russel, Clyde and Randy Austin, Broken Arrow delivers high-energy performances playing original songs, both new and yesterday’s country, classic and Southern rock hits and some rhythm and blues, truly offering something for everyone’s musical tastes.
Throughout Jenny’s life, playing guitar and singing from a young age has been her passion. Adding mandolin and keyboard to her skill set makes her a triple threat. Broken Arrow has held the #1 ranking position numerous times in both country and classic rock on ReverbNation, an online platform that provides tools and opportunities for musicians to manage their careers as well as voted First Place at the Battle of The Bands 2012 Bash in the U.S. receiving a $1,000 prize. They were also awarded a certificate of appreciation by Berkeley County for contributing music that helped raise thousands of dollars for the senior citizens’ Meals on Wheels program.
They have participated in as many as five benefits a year for the past seven years to include an AIDS awareness benefit with Southern Brother Michael Allman, son of the legendary Greg Allman and the Michael Allman Band. As well as a benefit for The Children’s Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Artimus Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Charlie Daniel’s harmonica player Coconut Harley for his missionary work in Florida—followed by countless other fund-raisers such as The Law Riders, The Purple Heart Association, The American Legion, The Veterans of Foreign War, and the Marine’s Toys for Tots, in addition to participating in fund-raisers for suicide awareness, drug prevention and various hardship cases for people who simply needed financial help and support.
Jenny has also shared the stage with Southern rock legends Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Bob Burns of Lynyrd Skynyrd, lead guitarist and founder of Molly Hatchet, David Hlubek, bassist and co-founder of Blackfoot Greg T. Walker and many local artists in the Low Country. No matter how big or small, Jenny considers it an honor to have performed with them and calls them friends.
As if all of that weren’t impressive enough on its own, Jenny’s talent and passion is not limited to music. Jenny is also a background artist and has cameoed in several television productions such as HBO’s “Vice Principles” with Danny McBride and WE TV’s “South of Hell” with Mena Suvari and Lamman Rucker. She has worked with James Brolin, Alyssa Milano, Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried on other sets. Her latest project “Left Behind: Vanished,” a movie with Amber Frank, Dylan Sprayberry and Tom Everett Scott was released in February 2017. Currently, Jenny is on a new police thriller television series called “Mr. Mercedes” that is being filmed in Charleston, South Carolina, with actor Brendan Gleeson and Mary-Louise Parker.
In addition to gracing many stages in various venues, participating in fund-raisers and performing, Jenny also owns and manages Sister Kitty Shabby Chic Antique Furniture Home Décor. Her shop, a historical building in Bonneau, South Carolina, was once a gas station in the early 1900s and is rumored that it was one of Al Capone’s frequent stops to get fuel. Restored for retail, Sister Kitty is a place where you can find unusual and rare collectible gifts, jewelry and more. Through her shop, Jenny recycles and brings back to life re-purposed furniture and other needful items that can be viewed on their Facebook on-line group page. Ten percent of her earnings from the shop are used to assist with fundraising.
Jenny is also a member of the Charles Towne Few Pirate group, along with fellow band mates whose goals are to increase knowledge of the period 1690 to 1820 through living history by wearing authentic period garb and recreating historically correct encampments. Jenny’s character is a Chinese pirate named Ching Shih. Jenny has also studied Tae Kwon Do in her personal life and works out with Nunchucku sticks. This assists with and coincides with her pirate persona for Ching Shih.
Besides playing guitar, helping others any chance she can and treasure seeking, Jenny is a proud mother and grandmother. She currently lives in Bonneau with her fur babies Gibson, Peal, Minnie Me and Rue. She finds comfort in drawing, painting and all creative forms of art that express her spirit.
