Autumn brings winds of change and a feeling of exhilaration as we move closer to winter festivities (and hopefully some cooler weather in South Texas!). It’s the time to contemplate; what should we leave behind, take with us, or hope to find in the next year?

This year to date has been quite exhilarating for me, having moved into a new community/forging a new path. I faced necessary change and needed to somehow just go with it, because NOT changing to ensure maximum happiness and peace is not an option. I’m finding different ways to become involved in new places while ensuring the reasons for my actions align with my personality, skills, and my heart’s calling.

Why not watch your own 2023 slideshow before you take a deep breath and relax a bit. Have you been racking your brain too hard/long about what your purpose is, or working a gazillion hours a week never reaching a goal?

Maybe you exercise too hard even when your body needs to rest. Or ‘over-worry’ about health conditions that can be managed and/or aren’t going to change much. Did you listen to your inner self/gut feelings, or did you push them aside and trudge forward, even if it didn’t feel right? No more, Sister! As you leave summer in the rear view mirror and ponder over those thoughts, try to keep things simple; your well-being depends on it!

Try not to overthink what’s to come (one of my own downfalls!).

It is totally possible to free space in your mind, respect your own boundaries, and still accomplish most anything you set your sights on. I’m here to help you refresh your health and wellness, so I recommend you take one ‘simple’ step at a time; this one’s for self-care. It will be a good start to falling gently toward 2024 by preparing your mind to ‘shift’ with a renewed perspective.

FOCUS – Develop a positive mindset to drive positive change.

  • 1) Make a list; things that create extreme happiness and peace within you. It may include taking in sounds/scents of a gentle downpour, listening to Brandi Carlise, or dancing in the kitchen to PINK (yes, I just went to her AWESOME, inspiring concert!).
  • 2) Rank each item on your list, most to lease favorite, and cross off the one that leaves you feeling the least happy and peaceful. Now, replace it with something new and refreshing! Even though it will take time to explore different experiences or moments, give it some thought and have fun before you choose.

As PINK enthusiastically sings, ‘Raise Your Glass’ – to yourself and to positive changes. ~ Peacefully, Alesa
