A Fresh Start – at any Age

I was walking through a store last week with my partner and mused aloud about how we hear 80s music everywhere now: in stores, in ads, etc.

Hearing “our” music in the grocery store makes me feel a little, well, old. But the truth is far from it. I’m only “middle aged,” which means I still have a lot of years to go, right? And I am smarter now, with more life experience. And fewer responsibilities. (I don’t have toddlers anymore!)

And the world around me has changed. So much is available online! I can finish my degree online (and I just became a college student again last month). So many opportunities to explore.

Never feel like you are “too old” for anything. You can make a fresh start every day!

I have a few things I like to focus on:

  • Instead of “30 under 30” lists, I seek out biographies of women who made significant progress (personally or professionally) after they turned 40. I find it inspires me!
  • I seek out videos that show how women over 40 have made significant lifestyle changes.
  • I find stories of women who have discovered their inner gifts after they turn 40.’

All of these things show me that I can make changes, too, and that any day is a great day to try something new.

I hope you find inspiration, too.
