his story has been passed around for years on various platforms. The original owner of the post or letter could not be traced . However, we felt it was a message that needed to be heard.
A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption:
“This summer, what do you want to be? Mermaid or Whale?”
The gym gained popularity and business soared as ladies wanted to be like a mermaid. This continued until a lady (clothing size unknown) saw the pic and caption and wrote her response and pasted it alongside the pic. It read as follows:
Dear People:
Whales swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They get pregnant, have beautiful babies and raise their children with great tenderness. Whales suckle. Whales are out there roaming the seas and getting to know interesting places like Antarctica and the coral reefs of Polynesia. Whales have dolphin friends. They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. Whales throw jets of water and play a lot. Whales are huge and have almost no natural predators. They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires. Whales are well settled, they are BEAUTIFUL and they are LOVED. On the contrary,
mermaids DO NOT EXIST … If they did, they would live in an existential crisis: Am I a fish or a human being? They would have no sex life and could not bear children because they kill men who are enchant-ed by their beauty says the tales. Their reproduction would be like fish, without physical contact, with-out love. who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side? Yes, They are beautiful, lovely, but lonely and sad.
I prefer to be a whale.
Without a doubt, I’d rather be a whale.
At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.
We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn’t enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies.
We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated. Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: “How amazing am I ?! “Accept who you are, the way you feel most comfortable with, don’t allow trends or society to define how beautiful you are, it’s important to keep healthy but it’s also important that we embrace equality and LOVE… Feel proud of your curves because those who really matter in our lives are the ones who care about your character, values and spirit.
So my question to you is, what would you like to be?
