Believing there is STILL good in this world, we asked our readers…
Have you witnessed or participated in any unexpected random acts of kindness lately?
- At the grocery store a young man and his son were in line in front of me. He was trying to buy a box of minute rice but didn’t have enough money. He told the cashier to just cancel it but I had her add it to my bill. He was so grateful that he offered to help carry out and load my groceries to say thanks.
- A coworker gave me a free lunch box from the local deli yesterday!
- Last week my husband went to Costco with the baby and it was POURING. He had his umbrella over the stroller so she wouldn’t get soaked and two ladies came running out to him with their umbrellas – they huddled under one and held the other over his head. It’s even sweeter when you consider that he is 6″3′ and these little ladies were on tippy toes trying to give him shelter.
- I am currently homeless with three children and yesterday an 18 year old that is currently in a program for homeless people knew I needed gas and gave me $5. Sometimes it’s those that have the least that will help the most.
- Every day after dinner, my husband takes our older than us neighbor for a walk around the block. I paid a small business lady a little extra when she sold me an item online…just to bless her
- I was having a tricky day and a colleague (whom I don’t know very well) seemed to pick up my feelings and just said all the right things to help me feel better. Sometime people are just placed in exactly the right place at the right time to show a little kindness.
- The people in the car next to mine gave me their cap parking ticket…with 1 hour left on it….so grateful!
- My son has a broken arm. The sweetest lady saw him while we were eating at subway and she bought him 3 cookies! It made his day…and mine! I love nice people.
- I missed my bus this morning because the driver didn’t see me. Another bus came and the driver said to me ” come ill catch him for you!” And he did. Arrived on time. I literally shouted to him: you’re the BEST!!!
- A friend posted on Facebook that her tulips were stolen from her lawn, so I secretly dropped off flower bulbs where the tulips were.
- I accidentally dropped my phone onto subway tracks today and before I could even think of what to do, a man I don’t know jumped down, grabbed it, and jumped back up again.
- I work for a tax service, and today was totally nuts because of lots of last minute tax filers. When one of our clients came in with two Snickers bars (“for an afternoon pick me up”)….so thoughtful!
