Thank you for taking the time to sit aside and take a walk through my journey. My journey started in 2014 when my whole world got turned upside down. When ending a marriage of six years, I moved in with a friend. My two beautiful kids and I had to share a room with my niece Katelynn and my best friend in a two-bedroom townhouse. Yes, it was tight but we all managed to make it work. Being an independent person, I knew that this could not be a permanent solution. With the last of my savings, I found an apartment for my kids and myself, and that in itself was truly a big change for me. Coming from a marriage of two incomes and moving to an apartment with one income with two kids to care for was a transformation in my world that took some getting used too.

I was stressed out! I was barely making it from paycheck to paycheck. My kids who were ages 4 and 1 at the time were still dealing with the fact that their parents were no longer together and adjusting to a new environment, which caused their behavior to shift for the worse. So now, I was dealing with leaving my husband and home, unusual behavior with my kids and no money to do anything extra besides make sure we had a safe environment to live in. During that time my health really started to decline, but I kept pushing because I was never one to just settle and take what the world thought that they could just give me. I started to gain even more weight, and now I was at a grand total of 295 pounds. I constantly would have headaches and just overall not feel great. I stayed so fatigued and never wanted to participate in anything that evolved physical activities. Some life, huh?

It got to the point that my head was hurting so bad that I gave in and went to the doctor. I got there to talk about my headache, and after they saw my vitals my doctor only wanted to talk about my blood pressure. My blood pressure was 165/95, and for those of you who don’t know what that means, normal blood pressure is 120/80. With working in nephrology and knowing my family history, it was a wakeup call for me. I sat down with my doctor to discuss options to get my blood pressure down. First and foremost, my weight had to come down, and then she started me on a blood-pressure medicine to help better control it. Learning my new reality, I knew it had to change, and from that it was on and popping. I have to stop here because my friends Shantana, Tamecia, Keisha and Asia were my biggest supporters even when I wanted to give up. They pushed me to keep going! But even though I was on the right track with my health, I STILL had no peace in my life. I knew for my life that I needed to bring GOD back in it full time. I joined Life Changers International Ministries and began to learn more about how to find more peace in my life. I learned to have faith in the things not seen and know that God will give me the strength to make it through anything I go through. When I gained back the control to not let anyone disrupt my peace, my whole life shifted to become more balanced. My kids, Destiny and Bradley, began to settle, my weight started to really come down and I now had the money to take care or my bills and wants. As a result I just became less stressed.

When I reached my 100-pound weight-loss goal, I even amazed myself. For the first time, I HAD PEACE! My doctor lowered the dosage with my medicine, my finances were in order, I started school and even to my surprise I was truly ready to date again. It was at 5 a.m. as I sat on my bed right after my daily mediation and prayer and it came to me: What if I could help people to be able to find peace in their lives? What if I could help educate people on their health with aiding in weight loss? What if I could help women and men who have come out of an unhealthy relationship and aid in getting them prepared for dating again? What if I could help entrepreneurs who have the desire to open their own business but are lost in the startup process? What if I could help people overall? What if I could help people become unstoppable one at a time?
