You may not think so but we all have what I call a “happy place”. No matter what the world feeds you there is a place in your mind where everything is always delicious regardless of what it tastes like. My happy place happens to be writing. This article is being created right now because I cannot find my debit card. After searching in every possible place that I usually put it, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s lost for real this time. Rather than panic and allow this to take over my thoughts, I decided to move the money on line while I search just in case someone does find the card. It has been such a great day for me up to this point, so I refuse to give up my joy for a circumstance that can be easily rectified by a simple phone call to my bank later.

What’s your happy place? Where is the one place that you can physically or mentally go whenever the world throws you a curve ball? Is it music or food? We hope it’s not food! As much as I love to eat, I am so pleased that food is not my go to when I feel oncoming stress. Now wine, that’s another whole story! It is so important that we know what makes us happy. My second happy place is cleaning, but sometimes when circumstances take a turn for me I don’t necessarily have the energy or wherewithal more on a whim than anything else.

I will turn a room upside down in a minute, even when I am in the middle of something else. I just did that the other day with my living room. All of a sudden I was sick of the curtains and the arrangement of the furniture, so everything got changed. Now I feel like I’m in a new space. So go find your happy place the next time you find yourself sinking in despair.
