Ever feel like you may be stuck in an eternal winter?

We plant in the fall to reap in the spring, when the brilliant yellow daffodils pop through the snow crusted ground.

I’m currently like that seed germinating underground, waiting to transition to the next phase…

To a new state

To new home

To a new chapter in business

To a new season in parenting

When I was supposed to be enjoying grand changes by now, chaos entered, movers were fired, arctic freezes came, and more medical “fun” than expected showed up.

Everything was put on hold.

Did I miss it?

Did I get ahead of what I heard God tell me?

Did I misunderstand?

The discouragement begins.

Perhaps you’ve been there …

Have you felt a delay or a dark and dreary season?

Or maybe that nothing was going according to plan?

Or even the excitement of new chapters were missing in action?

And yet for me, in what seemed like an eternal winter season, a new vision took shape.

A business idea took root.

Realization where I was going may not be the right place.

Cherished moments with friends occurred.

Breakthrough a long time in coming, broke through!

What about you?

What is coming out of the unexpected delay?

What is poking through the snow-covered ground with vibrant color?

As medical warriors, we encounter delay, detours, and being put on hold in life usually as daily occurrences. And yet, God is still working behind the scenes on your behalf. Even when it seems like the transition is stuck on hold or the seeds are still hiding in the ground past their prime, they are still ruminating.

Think back to the last unexpected moment you had.

Look for the glory in it.

The ripple effect for good.

For new things to shift, move and open on your behalf.

As I share with my daughter often, instead of being a problem finder, be the solution seeker.

Sometimes we need to be held up in our plans to be available for the new, to make room for all the seeds about to sprout to color our gardens.

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9
